Methadone Treatment Process at Lake Zurich

Starting opioid addiction treatment can feel overwhelming; we get that. That’s why we’ve made the process at Lake Zurich smooth and simple.

Our outpatient methadone program combines medication and counseling, providing individuals with the tools they need to feel better and move forward. Since our clinic serves a diverse population from Lake Zurich and neighboring towns, individualized treatment planning is a key part of our approach, ensuring that care is tailored to each person's unique needs and goals.

Medically-Assisted Treatment

Methadone is at the core of our methadone program. It’s an FDA-approved medication that helps ease withdrawal symptoms and cravings for opioids. Many of our patients experience significant relief after their very first dose. That means they can finally sleep, eat, think clearly, and start getting back to the life they’ve been missing.

Individual Counseling

Medication is just one piece of our substance abuse treatment program.

Individual methadone counseling gives you space to talk through what’s going on beneath the surface: what led you here, what’s been hard, and what’s next.

Group Counseling

Group counseling connects you with others who understand what you’re going through.

You’ll discuss how to manage stress, navigate difficult emotions, prioritize your mental and physical health, and develop healthier relationships with others. Everyone brings their own story, and we all learn from each other.

You’ll receive real, consistent support that helps you build the life you want to live.

FAQs About Our Lake Zurich Methadone Clinic

IS METHADONE TREATMENT RIGHT FOR ME?
Methadone is one of the most common, safe, and effective remedies for addiction recovery. Methadone may be the right choice for you if:
  • You are 18 years or older and have been dependent on painkillers or heroin.
  • Your opioid use has resulted in social consequences affecting your work, family, and social obligations.
  • Previous attempts at quitting have been unsuccessful.
  • You are combining one or more substances, putting your health at further risk.
  • You have engaged in criminal activity to continue using the illicit opioid.
  • You use opiates intravenously, which puts you at high risk for AIDS, HIV, STIs, and Hepatitis C.
CAN I DRIVE OR OPERATE MACHINERY WHILE TAKING METHADONE?
Yes. Methadone, when used as prescribed, does not impair a patient’s ability to drive or operate machinery. Research studies indicate that patients on methadone have normal functioning including the ability to pay close attention, reaction time, eye-hand coordination, and accurate responses in emergency situations.
ARE METHADONE CLINICS SAFE?
Yes, Revive Treatment Centers methadone programs are located in very safe areas. The picture many people have of methadone centers is a dingy storefront in a run-down part of town, with long lines of rough people waiting to receive their dose. But our methadone clinics are found in genuinely nice areas, in clean environments, with modern offices, serving all kinds of people.
DO I HAVE TO GO TO A METHADONE CLINIC EVERY DAY?
In general, yes - most people on methadone maintenance will need to go to the clinic every day to get their dose because methadone is a regulated substance that must be taken only under medical supervision. A dose of methadone generally lasts between 24 and 36 hours, so a once-daily dose is the standard protocol.  Not all people go to a methadone clinic every day, however. Some users can arrange with the clinic to take methadone home, especially if getting to the clinic poses a hardship.
CAN MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY FOR MY METHADONE TREATMENT?
Most methadone clinics accept various forms of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid. See our list of accepted insurance providers above - contact us if your health insurance provider is not on the list and you want to find out if it covers our methadone program.
